Destination Southern Highlands (council tourism) says dogs are allowed on lead. Forestry Corporation says dogs are welcome in all NSW state forests but must be kept under your control at all times, and you should pick up after them. Many state forests border national parks or conservation areas where dogs are banned, so stay inside the state forest boundary. Campfires only when no fire ban is in place. Check signage on arrival.
